THE TEAM

As you’re probably aware video games are made by people. We have a tiny core team who crafted Röki, but are very proud of the new collaborators who have joined us to shape the world of Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island.

We work with some of our collaborators throughout the entire development process, others jump on board for shorter spells depending on their area of expertise.

Each individual’s contribution is pivotal to shaping the game and it’s important that they all get credit, irrespective of how long they spend working with us.

In short, they’re awesome and you can meet them below:-

WHITETHORN GAMES

We’re delighted that our publishing partner for Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is none other than Whitethorn Games. They’re an indie game publisher focusing on pleasant, cozy games that anyone can pick up and play. Their titles include games like Lake, Calico, Wytchwood and Apico. They’re believers in accessibility, inclusion, and widening the audience that gets to play.

When it came to picking a publisher for the game we were really keen to partner with a team who are passionate about non-violent gameplay and share our values, so they’re the perfect fit.

Alex

Alex is the Creative Director and Lead Developer. He’s worked in games for a very long time and is old but enthusiastic. In his role he wears many hats but specializes in Character Art and Animation. He was named a BAFTA Breakthrough Creative in 2021, which was nice.

Malindy

Malindy is our writer. Together with with Sam and Alex she had evolved the game’s high-level story, setting and themes before starting work on the actual writing-of-words-bit. Through her work Malindy breathes life and emotion into our cast of characters and sequences across the entire game. She also works as a video games journalist, writing reviews for the likes of Edge Magazine, The Guardian and Play Magazine.

Aether

Aether (also known as Jason Taylor) is a Canadian-based Scotsman and the game’s composer. His solo works include collaborations with a wide variety of talent ranging from top tier session musicians to highly acclaimed music producers amassing an obscene about of plays on music streaming services. The team are delighted to be collaborating with Aether again following his work creating the soundtrack for Polygon Treehouse’s debut game Röki which dripped with atmosphere and received great praise.

Matthew is our Technical Developer and Programmer which basically means his role on the Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island team is to make sure that all the technical parts behind the scenes are well oiled and running smoothly. Matthew is also an ex-PlayStation colleague who worked on Polygon Treehouse’s debut game Röki and his love of computers dates back to the BBC Micro model B.

Sergio

When he’s not obsessively combing his moustache, Sergio is boldly crafting sounds that dwell within realms of Ancient Greek depths; from mythical moody ambiences to emotive vocal outbursts with narrative-centric execution. In short, he’s the team’s Sound Designer. Previously he toured for four years as the bassist in a metal band before coming to the realization that “video games are great” and henceforth pursued a career in game audio.
