THE Gods
In Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island you meet the long-lost gods of Greek mythology, however they may be a little different to the Gods you’ve read about in dusty old tomes:-
Hermes
Hermes is the long retired Messenger of the Gods and lives life at a more gentle pace these days. Considering he was once capable of travelling the world at great speeds he can be a little slow on the uptake and now never leaves his beach. He’s not used to company and is a bit of a Nervous Nellie around strangers. Hermes is a undeniable gentle giant and the other gods still consider him the baby of their family.
APHRODITE
Aphrodite is the God of Love although prone to loneliness herself although she hides it well. She is often underestimated due to her bubbly energy, soft voice and friendly demeanor but she is more than capable of standing up for herself when pushed. Aphrodite is known for her ability to read people and often plays peacemaker, calming ruffles between her fellow islanders and mostly keeping Ares in check.
ARES
Ares is the God of War or at least , he was. Famed for his fiery temper and battle prowess he now tends the island’s orchards in an attempt to keep his toxic rage in check. Ares is trying his best to leave his old life behind but he is still quick to anger, easily irritated and often rudely blunt. He may lack emotional intelligence but his fierce disposition is also matched by his steadfast loyalty to his long-suffering friends
HEPHAESTUS
Hephaestus is the God of Invention and limitless imagination. These days he seldom leaves his packed workshop where he toils industriously to perfect his many pet projects. His commitment to his art is absolute, often missing meals as he’s so absorbed in crafting the impossible. Hephaestus doesn’t have a great deal of time for idle chat and sometimes struggles to understand people in the same way he does machines.
POSEIDON
Poseidon is the carefree God of Sea. Like a true man of the ocean, he has turned into a philosopher. For anything he wants to know, he just listens to the waves, and if the waves aren’t telling him to take it easy, he’s probably misheard them, because everything can be solved by playing it cool and relaxing. His apparent laid-back demeanor is rumored to hide hidden depths but probably best not to hold your breath.
ATHENA
Athena is the short-sighted God of Wisdom. They’ve forgotten more than you could ever hope to learn in a lifetime, although at times seem to lack the most basic common sense (as is often the way with extremely smart people). They have lots of ideas and opinions and they’re not afraid to let you know about them. They have an abundance of nervous energy, are prone to bouts of randomness and have a tendency to babble, but is very sharp and clear once focused on the task in hand.
ZEUS & HERA
Zeus & Hera are the Leaders of the Gods and the ultimate power couple, or at least they used to be. There once-famed parties have dwindled into non-existence and their fractured island family have long since retreated from their leadership and guidance, even if they themselves refuse to admit anything is wrong. Their love and fierce devotion to each to each other has remained unchanged over the eons, even if the world around them hasn’t.
HADES
Hades is the world-weary God of Death. He’s pale, rail thin and generally unimpressed and has made his home deep under the island, as far away from everyone as possible. Highly intelligent and famously aloof, Hades is the ultimate black sheep of the family and he wouldn’t have it any other way. His motives are unclear and he has not been seen by the other islanders in hundreds of years.
Alex
Alex is definitely not a god and absolutely cannot catch a break. Modern life has take its toll on Alex leaving her worn out and in serious need of a vacation. After putting it off for years she snapped and finally booked a long-overdue trip to recuperate and find herself again. However, the fates have other plans for Alex and now she finds herself shipwrecked on the strange shores of Ambrosia Island. She just wanted to get far away from everything and have a normal holiday like a normal person, how the hell did this happen?
